Trans-Civ selected to assist Army in providing enhanced Career Transition services to exiting soldiers
Over the past six months, we have been heavily involved with Army in developing enhanced transition services to better suit the needs of exiting Defence members and their families. Recently we attended an awesome day in Canberra with Army's Soldiers Wounded, Injured and Ill Program trial, where we heard wonderfully supportive words spoken by the Director General.
We've waited 11 years in supporting members transition out of Defence to hear such depth...

This could be one of the most valuable pieces of information you ever read. It’s about knowing how you can make thousands of dollars before you begin looking for a new job. While that may sound too good to be true, it is achievable for everyone. Let me explain.
When employers sort through hundreds of job applications (CV/Résumé, Cover Letter and/or Selection Criteria), they are not only reviewing to see who is suitable to be interviewed and who isn’t, but they are also grading each of the good applicants into an order of...

As Australia's economy transitions from resources to service-based industries, everyone wants to know where the jobs will come from.
Market research firm IBISWorld has identified clothing retailing, physiotherapy services, meat processing, oil and gas extraction and private and government schools as the five industries set to show the fastest employment growth in 2015-16 and over the next five years.

Are you aware of your non-verbal communication? Have you ever noticed how in some circumstances that you act differently than you do in normal circumstances?
This is due to the environment you are in. Whether it’s with different people, in different surroundings, or when the outcome could dramatically change your life. After a career spanning almost 20 years in the Army, I was faced with a medical discharge. Amidst the mire of admin that had to be negotiated I also had to look for a career that would give me as much satisfaction that my Army career had given. I knew that I had skills and experience that were pertinent to Defence, but how would they fit in outside? This is where the team from TransCiv come in. After filling out a thorough questionnaire they were able to build a comprehensive list of my transferable skills, skills that I hadn't known that I possessed, but had acquired over my career and were now transferable into a civilian career. The team built a CV for me and taught me how to modify my CV for targeted roles. On top of all of this, Ross flew to Darwin for some one-on-one interview coaching and personal development, an experience while daunting, proved to be invaluable. And the support hasn't stopped there; telephone calls and email correspondence remain ongoing as needed. I successfully gained two job offers from two interviews and am now working in my dream job, and I believe it was made possible with the help and support from the TransCiv team. I strongly urge anybody contemplating transition from Defence to engage with the TransCiv team and set yourself up for success.
