Trainee Beekeeper

We are seeking a person with beekeeping experience or at least has a good interest. This is a full-time position. Our season from Late July or September 2016. Based in South East QLD at Rochedale. This position involves all aspects of beekeeping in our honey/pollination business. Proven ability to work as part of a team very important.
We are close friendly family business. You must not be afraid of hard heavy work and long irregular hours which involves a lot of time in the bush. Camping will be required as well as a full and clean driver licence, good work ethic, reliable. A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated recognising the successful candidate’s skills and previous experience.
We need someone who fits this description:
- You must not be allergic to bees
- At least 2 years’ beekeeping experience (but am happy to train the right person)
- Thorough knowledge of the habits of bees
- Manual Driver License (HR) – or car license with the confidence to get HR essential.
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Skills identifying bee diseases
We also offer the chance of a life time to work closely in the Australian bush and camp under the stars whilst we are out working over distance.
The person should not be allergic to bees, able to handle stings and at least have some basic knowledge of hives. We never ask you to do anything that we do not do ourselves. We work side by side. We could also have shed work for a partner.
