Bowls Club Secretary/Manager

Through this entry level management role, we aim to find someone who has an eye for detail, good book-keeping skills, good at managing people, be a self-starter, with initiative and honesty.  Core function is to promote the club, not just manage, but building and promote the club.

Club position is Level D (Clubs NSW)

Level D manager, responsibilities include:

  • Supervise staff in one or more sections of the club, including allocation of duties, preparation of rosters, approval of overtime, employee counselling, discipline and performance appraisal;
  • Plan and implement improved work procedures;
  • Make recommendations to senior management or the Management Committee on staff including training requirements and staffing levels;
  • Contribute ideas for long term planning, including the areas of new equipment, maintenance, human resources, marketing;
  • Check and supervise quality of services, hygiene and safety arrangements;
  • Check equipment and facilities for maintenance, replacement and upgrading;
  • Place supply orders and authorise payments within set procedures.
  • Determine suitability of training courses and/or methods;
  • Interpret and apply specific Board policy in the running of the club;
  • Provide ideas for longer term financial planning;
  • Analyse income and expenditure for a number of the club’s operations; calculates costs and/or value of stock and sales;
  • Investigate financial irregularities
  • Ensure legal requirements are met, prepares statutory returns, required to interpret relevant Acts and Statutes;
  • Organise safety procedures, keep abreast of developments in safety and is responsible for maintenance of safety equipment;
  • Implement marketing programs and activities;
  • Determine long-term planning priorities, including how and which information is to be collected; contribute ideas for long-term forward planning of property;
  • Supervise financial reports and calculation of finances, establish stocktaking procedures;
  • Identify financial risks and evaluation of financial options;
  • May supervise preparation of wages;
  • Calculate costs of services;
  • Evaluate computer hardware;
  • Prepare agendas and proposals for consideration by the Board;
  • Establish procedures that apply to the whole club;

Wage is $68k per year, plus super, plus 3 bedroom brick house (incl power and electricity costs).

Collarenebri is a town in north western New South Wales. The town in the Walgett Shire local government area and on the Barwon River approximately 75 kilometres northeast of Walgett and south west of Mungindi on the Gwydir Highway.

Laid-back slow country living community. Town has 330 people, good medical centre with Doctor, IGA, plus more and great fishing.
