We are now recruiting for an Assistant Instructor to support the Royal Australian Navy`s (RAN) Bridge Training Faculty team in providing advanced tactical and navigational training to the next generation of officers.
A calm and balanced approach is needed to get the best from this dynamic and exciting role.
You will also be responsible for:
- Maintaining a detailed knowledge of RAN Warfare procedures and Fleetwork Manoeuvring including tactical voice procedures
- Maintaining high levels of Bridge Simulator System knowledge in order to facilitate training preparation, equipment fault finding and system setup
- Assisting in the use of the Simulator systems
- Carrying out tasks as directed by the Navigation Warfare and Lead Instructors
In your first week of employment, you will attend Bridge Training Faculty systems training, plus you will be required to complete annual online awareness training courses including a two week Instructional Techniques Course within your first month.
This role will see you working collaboratively in a small and focussed team, where you will enjoy the intrinsic rewards of assisting in the delivery of training output and receiving the support of a global services company.
To be considered, you must be assessed as a competent Skill Grade 3 Communications and Information Systems Sailor and have proven RAN experience at this level on a Frigate or Destroyer within the last 5 years. The ability to remain calm in pressure situations combined with exceptional verbal and written communication skills plus the flexibility around shift rosters in the two 20 week training periods are essential.
