We are currently seeking bright and experienced Catering Assistants to join our team on a casual basis at the Immigration Detention Centre at Villawood to ensure the smooth and successful operation of the food service process, whilst complying with all food hygiene regulations.
As a Catering Assistant, your main responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and delivering food of high standard
- Serve detainees with food that is nutritious and well presented
- General cleaning tasks and maintenance of the kitchen to ensure hygienic conditions at all times
- Assist the Catering Manager and Chefs in preparation of the daily menu
- Ensure all tasks are performed in a timely manner and comply with internal policy and legislative requirements
The successful candidate will require the following:
- Minimum Certificate II in Kitchen Operations or Equivalent
- MUST be able to show completion of EITHER “SITXFSA101” or “SITXFSA001” – “Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety” on Academic Transcript
- Demonstrated experience with basic kitchen processes and food preparation
- Sound understanding of HACCP principles
- Great communication skills
- Ability to follow direction and;
- Team player
