Serco Defence are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic leader to be responsible for providing In Service Support (ISS) for over $400 million in physical assets, comprising thirteen patrol boats and associated supplies.  This role liaises directly with the Commonwealth’s Patrol Boat System Program Office in Darwin (the direct customer) and high levels of the Royal Australian Navy (the operational user of the vessels) for all matters related to the successful delivery of In Service Support to the Armidale Class Patrol Boats (ACPBs).

 

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Asset Management your accountabilities will include:

 

  • Managing the Contract Management function of the ACPB program by providing inspirational leadership and a hands-on approach
  • Increasing operational profit through compliance with the Conditions of Contract and delivery of the contracted KPIs, while ensuring work is performed safely and to high standards of quality
  • Delivering growing returns by developing and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Collaborating at all levels ensuring the best information is available in order to make sound business decisions
  • Supporting the business by being a role model for values-based leadership and learning
  • Seeking and developing new business opportunities for Serco Defence

 

It is essential for you to have significant management experience in companies (or Government organisations) whose core business involves aspects of engineering, project management and heavy industry, and be comfortable in high pressure roles. You will have broad-based management experience, preferably within the Defence industry, involving project planning and scheduling, earned value management and risk management, all within high profile projects.

Proven experience in contract management roles where the priority was to deliver better than expected results is highly desired.

 

You will be required to hold an Australian recognised tertiary qualification in Commerce, Science or Engineering with MBA, Project Management or post graduate studies being advantageous.
