Serco Defence are seeking to appoint an inspirational and hands-on leader to be responsible for providing In Service Support (ISS) for over $300 million in physical assets, comprising eight existing patrol boats and two additional boats currently being constructed. This role liaises directly with the prime contractor for the Cape Class Patrol Boats (CCPB) program and high levels of the Australian Border Force (the operational user of the vessels) for all matters related to the successful delivery of In Service Support to the CCPBs.
Leading a team of fifteen and reporting to the Executive General Manager, Asset Management your accountabilities will include:
- Providing overall co-ordination and management of all aspects of the CCPB ISS Contract
- Achieving contracted requirements and objectives to meet the reasonable expectations of stakeholders and the customer
- Ensuring adequate and appropriate resources are available to meet contract deliverables
- Ensuring project team personnel are appropriately trained for assigned duties
- Maintaining Contract documentation and reporting requirements
- Managing the Serco budget for the CCPB ISS project
- Developing relationships and legal arrangements with service providers and stakeholders
- Monitoring compliance of the ISS project team workplace and support services
- Seeking and developing new business opportunities for Serco Defence
It is essential for you to have significant management experience in companies (or Government organisations) whose core business involves aspects of engineering, project management and heavy industry, and be comfortable in high pressure roles. You will have broad-based management experience, preferably within the Defence industry, involving project planning and scheduling, earned value management and risk management, all within high profile projects.
Proven experience in a contract management role where the priority was to deliver better than expected results is highly desired.
You will be required to hold an Australian recognised tertiary qualification in Commerce, Science or Engineering with MBA, Project Management or post graduate studies being advantageous.
