Careers Advisory Service Customer Feedback
- As part of my plan to transition out of the Air Force I knew I needed some help with how to tackle the civilian job market. I hadn’t participated in a job interview for over fifteen years so Trans-Civ was instrumental in assisting me with building a resume, recognising and converting qualifications into civvy-speak, addressing selection criteria etc. Participating in mock interviews, where I had to answer questions I would face in a real interview, was particularly valuable to me. What impressed me the most, however, was their genuine interest in helping me identify a career that really appealed to me, rather than just ‘finding me a job’. I would recommend anyone planning on getting out of the Services to take the time to utilise what Trans-Civ offers. JH
- I found the session a great insight into how a potential employer might be interested, or single you out above the rest. I have never needed this assistance before joining the Army and am really glad I have it now that things have significantly changed since then. DT
- I had a good talk with Charlotte and although I had a pretty good idea on the career I want to get into I still came out with a lot of advice especially in regards to Qualifications and Skills obtainment. She was good to talk to. She was not quick to end the conversation or gave the impression that she had better things to do and I felt I had her full attention for the whole conversation. LO
- It was comforting to hear from an independent person what my transferrable skills are and what other type of job/career could be available to me. She gave me a feeling that I was talking to someone who understood where I was with my transition and also gave some candid comments on certain type of occupations, which is required. CS
- I found the session with Charlotte very useful as I think I needed someone who is on the outside and with a different outlook to point me in the right direction. In her words I was being a bit wishy, washy on what I wanted to do, so she gave me some great ideas and now I have a plan. SD
- I have been having some battles with my confidence. Charlotte was most persistent and also very encouraging regarding the efforts that I have already made. When you have had knock backs - which we all do - especially at my age - discrimination does occur, but I now have a renewed confidence. JF
- I had an idea of where I was headed and what I wanted to do, so she couldn't really help much in that regard; however she was able to help in suggestions about my CV, different angles on the direction of my career path and things like that. I would definitely recommend this service to friends who would need it. SM
